Satoru Iwata 1959-2015
I started to write about Satoru’s passing last year, trying to put my thoughts down about someone who has been very influential to the games industry, being only at the time the fourth person in history to have held the title of President of Nintendo, but also on a personal level, from his work on the DS, Gamecube and Wii all of which have been regarded by me as pretty special. For some reason I never quite finished it, and it sat languishing in my draft queue for this site.
I guess I was finding it hard to do justice to my tribute to the man, but this video from the GDC Awards seems to succinctly capture what I was trying to say myself.
